Making a difference by supporting the arts
Roger Neathawk, NDP’s founder and chairman, has been a fan of the Richmond Symphony for years, and in 2016 he was invited to join the Symphony’s board. In 2018, at our headquarters in Scott’s Addition, NDP was honored to host the livestream announcement that Richmond was selected as the host city for the Menuhin Competition Richmond 2020. The announcement ceremony took place in Geneva Switzerland, with our mayor Levar Stoney in attendance, at the conclusion of the Menuhin Geneva 2018 Competition.
The Menuhin Competition is the world’s leading youth violin competition, which happens every other year. Recognizing the opportunity to make our local Symphony and our city shine on an international stage, NDP is proud to be among the partners supporting this exciting event.
Working with the Richmond Symphony and Menuhin Competition team in London, NDP designed and produced a logo, poster, print ads, digital banners, video and webpage assets. This initial suite of promotional materials was designed to attract applicants to the competition. The team drew inspiration from Richmond landmarks and ended up using one of our many bridges across the James River as graphic inspiration.
We will continue to support this exciting event over the next year, with paid advertising through May 2020 when the eyes–and ears–of the world are focused on Richmond and 44 young violinists from around the globe.
